Organisers of this year's Download festival have denied misleading fans about the exclusivity of Faith No More's appearance.

The June 12 performance from the reformed rock band was originally billed as their "only UK show of the year", but the group have since announced a date at London's Brixton Academy on June 10.

They also listed the Reading and Leeds festival as part of their tour on their official website, though these dates have since been removed from the site.

Festival director John Probyn told eFestivals: "We don't tell lies, we give people information based on facts at the time. What's the point in me misleading a fan, is that going to make them want to buy tickets in the future?"

He insisted that the 2009 event has "the best lineup for a rock festival ever", adding that he is most looking forward to seeing ZZ Top.
