Radiohead have started work on a new LP, bassist Colin Greenwood has confirmed.

The band have been recording the follow-up to In Rainbows with longtime producer Nigel Godrich, Rolling Stone reports.

"It was very noisy and chaotic and really fun," Greenwood said of the group's recent sessions.

"It's at the stage where we've got the big Lego box out and we've tipped it out on the floor and we're just looking at all the bits and thinking, 'What's next?'.

"I'm very impressed with Nigel, our producer, and his ability to make it all sound vaguely plausible," he added.

Greenwood added that it was "good to be back in the studio".
