On Saturday, the singer-guitarist played a gig together with Pete Doherty and drummer Gary Powell at the Rhythm Factory in London for a tribute concert.
Asked about a possible full reunion, Barat told NME: "I can't rule it out, but I'd rather save it. That's not to say I won't get on stage with Pete at some point soon.
"Next year is a new year. We'll see what happens."
Meanwhile, Babyshambles drummer Adam Ficek told BBC 6 Music that it was only a "matter of time" before a full Libertines comeback.
Ficek said: "I'm sure they'll get together at some point. I think they should make people wait and make people really want them."
