Perry was named Best International Female at the ceremony in February, triumphing over Cilmi, Beyoncé, Pink and Santogold.
It was later reported that Cilmi had criticised the voting, suggesting that Perry "didn't deserve" to win the award.
However, speaking to Take 5 magazine, the Aussie singer insisted: "I never actually said that. I can cope with Katy winning an award. I won six ARIA awards in Australia and all these people were saying I didn't deserve it, so I wouldn't do that to anyone else."
Asked if she is nervous about seeing Perry at a future event, the star replied: "I hope she doesn't try to get me. I'm not worried though. I wear a lot of rings on my fingers - you don't want to mess with me!"
Cilmi released her debut album Lessons To Be Learned in 2008 and is currently working on her next record.
