West: 'Jay-Z is modern day Sinatra'

Kanye West has compared a host of contemporary artists to legendary acts from previous decades.

Writing on his blog, the 'Love Lockdown' singer claimed that Jay-Z was like the modern day Frank Sinatra and that Justin Timberlake could expect the same pop legend status as Michael Jackson in the future.

"I look at our current superstars like legends in the making," he wrote. "Like Justin is the new Mike, Beyoncé's the new Tina Turner, Gaga's Madonna, Jay is Sinatra."

He continued: "(Lil') Wayne is Hendrix, Thom Yorke is Roger Waters. These are the champions and they should be documented as such."

Earlier this year, West described himself as "God's vessel" who had been destined for fame in order to spread his word through music.
