Williamson first joined The Stooges in 1971 for their third LP, but has not played any of the concerts since the group reformed in 2003.
Iggy told The Australian: "I had a meeting in LA last week with James. It was the first time we had seen each other in 30 years.
"So we talked about doing something together. Raw Power would be the repertoire.''
Original Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton, who played bass on the 1973 album, died earlier this year, but Iggy said that "there is always Iggy And The Stooges, the second growth of the band''.
Since their reformation, the group have not played any tracks from the Williamson-era Raw Power, restricting themselves to songs from their self-titled debut, follow-up Funhouse and 2007 comeback album The Weirdness.
Raw Power was controversially produced by David Bowie and remixed by Iggy for a 1997 CD re-release.
