Spinal Tap have claimed that they were not talking to one another before they were recently asked to reform.

The stars of 1984's spoof rockumentary This Is Spinal Tap release new studio album Back From The Dead on June 22 and will play dates at Wembley Arena and the Glastonbury Festival.

Spinal Tap will also feature on a new documentary which will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on June 20 at 10pm.

Of their recent comeback, singer David St Hubbins told the station: "We weren't even speaking to each other, then someone made us an offer and we thought, 'Well, a good a time to sell-out is when you've got a buyer'."

Celebrity fan Jarvis Cocker said of the band: "A lot of people rightly concentrate on Tap's music but for me the lyrics of 'Big Bottom' really opened my eyes because when I began touring myself, well...I came across a lot of big bottoms."
