Insiders told MTV News that the LP is scheduled to arrive on September 11, eight years to the day after the rapper's first Blueprint came out.
It has also been reported that the record will be released by the Warner Music Group. Jay-Z had earlier been in negotiations with both Warner and Sony Music label Epic Records.
Blueprint 3 is being produced by Kanye West, who has declared that the record is "anti-Auto-Tune".
Jay-Z has not yet confirmed the reports.
