Entitled Keep An Eye On The Sky, the 98-track compilation covers the period from 1968-1975, Billboard reports.
It includes tracks by the band's predecessors Rock City and Ice Water and solo albums from its members Alex Chilton and Chris Bell, alongside unreleased material from their album sessions.
Drummer Jody Stephens said: "Just when you're thinking everything has been released, apparently it hasn't.
"I'm always glad people are interested. It'll be fun to sit down and drive around Memphis with this. There's much I haven't heard."
Big Star play London's Hyde Park with Tindersticks as part of the Serpentine Sessions on July 1.
