Kerr: 'Live Aid bands didn't have a clue'

The multi-venue concert on July 13, 1985 was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise money for famine relief in Ethiopia.
Of the bands on the lineup, Kerr told The Quietus: "A lot of them honestly didn't have a clue why they were there back then.
"Geldof was very good at getting people involved for sure but I am not sure all of them thought it was that important."
He added that he "didn't need to even think about" joining the later musical campaign in support of Nelson Mandela and against Apartheid in South Africa.
