Paolo Nutini slips to two with Sunny Side Up, while Black Eyed Peas enter at three with their fifth studio set The E.N.D.
Meanwhile, electropop singer Little Boots - the winner of the BBC's Sound of 2009 poll - lands at five with debut album Hands.
Other new entries in the top ten come from Bruce Springsteen, who bows at seven with his latest Greatest Hits collection, and Placebo, who debut at eight with Battle For The Sun.
