Independent Charts to be relaunched
Published Monday, Jun 15 2009, 18:12 BST | By Alex Fletcher

The move will coincide with the start of two new charts - Independent Singles and Album Breakers Charts - which will begin on June 29.
The new look Independent Chart has changed its rules so that any CD or download which is released on a label 50% owned by an independent company is eligible, irrespective of distribution.
The Breakers Charts will only be open to independent acts who have not previously scored a Top 20 hit. Artists such as Patrick Wolf, The Horrors and Bon Iver would have benefited from this earlier this year.
"The independent record sector has changed beyond recognition since these charts were initially born out of the punk/new wave surge of the late 1970s and early '80s," said OCC's Martin Talbot.
He told the BBC: "This new set of rules is designed to address those changes."
