Ronson will produce a number of songs and play the bass for the group, which comprises Lennon and his model girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl.
"It's a '60s psych thing, quite Brazilian, with Sean and his girlfriend singing in unison," the producer told the Daily Star.
Lennon, 33, collaborated with his mother Yoko Ono on numerous tracks before releasing his debut album Into The Sun in 1998. His second solo offering Friendly Fires came out in 2006.
Ronson has previously remixed singles for Lily Allen, Amy Winehouse, Adele and Daniel Merriweather.
