The 'L.E.S. Artistes' singer, who changed her name from Santogold following an alleged legal dispute, has enlisted the help of Pharrell Williams and Spank Rock.
The 32-year-old revealed that Williams had already come up with some unique ideas for the record.
"We went in the studio and [Williams] was like, 'I'll just play the buckets'," she said. "It was like, 'Boom, ah, buh-doom, ah!'", she told Nylon.
Diplo and Switch, who worked on the star's self-titled debut have also been named as collaborators.
The star listed Otis Redding and 1980s rap star Egyptian Lover as inspirations behind the new material.
