Roseburn Primary was shut just after noon today, following a Lothian and Borders police warning that up to 55,000 fans were expected to descend on the nearby Murrayfield Stadium from 2pm.
Speaking to BBC News, single mother Angela McGregor said: "It's ridiculous that the school had to close early because of the Oasis concert. My son lost half a day's education."
Several parents have also complained that the closure was causing problems with their childcare arrangements.
A spokesperson for the City Council explained that the decision to shut the school was influenced by past experiences, adding: "Access will be difficult and alcohol will be sold in the area."
Oasis are expected to take to the stage at around 8.30pm tonight.
