The group blamed the economic downturn for the decision to scrap seven scheduled dates in August and apologised to fans on their website.
"Due to circumstances beyond their control, the New Kids On The Block have been forced to cancel their upcoming Australian tour dates," the statement reads.
"The group is incredibly disappointed and very sorry they won’t be able to perform in Australia at this time. The guys are very grateful for all the love and support from their Australian fans.
"We are, in fact, in the middle of a worldwide recession and we just cannot make it work," Donnie Wahlberg wrote.
New Kids On The Block reformed last year and released their first new material in fourteen years.
Further dates on the 34-city 'Full Service' jaunt are still scheduled to continue.
