The singer told NME that her long-awaited album Nobody's Daughter will be released under the name of the group that split up in 2002.
The record features ex-Larrikin Love guitarist Micko Larkin and heavy metal string quartet Apocalyptica, while original bandmember Melissa auf der Maur features in a limited role.
Love said: "The rock Courtney didn't really go away, but I needed a rock partner. I have my rock partner now. I am old enough to be his cool auntie.
"[The album went] from being an aspiration of Blood On The Tracks to Diamond Dogs. It's huge like a big, fist-shaped hole."
The album will be produced by Michael Beinhorn, who worked on 1998's Celebrity Skin.
