The singer was scheduled to perform at the M2 nightclub in New York City on Saturday as part of the launch of the North American leg of her 'I Am…Sasha Fierce' tour, The New York Times reports.
Owner Joey Morrissey agreed to pay her $200,000 for the gig, but her management cancelled the appearance on Wednesday, despite a contract being signed and Morrissey spending $100,000 in preparation for the show.
He said: "They said they were too busy with the launching of the tour and that they wouldn't have time to do the kickoff party."
In order to make up for the cancellation, the singer reportedly offered to stop by the club and "hang out for an hour". However, Morrissey said that "they have been totally unwilling to do another show" and that he is prepared to file a suit for $1 million dollars citing "loss of reputation" and monies spent.
He added: "If Beyoncé cancels and doesn't give us a new date, this hurts our credibility in night life."
The appearance was initially posted on her website and has since been taken down.
It was recently announced that Beyoncé will perform at the BET Awards on June 28.
