York has been performing with the pop-rock band as a fill-in since Hunter Lamb's departure in 2007.
According to Yahoo! Music, the announcement claimed that York would be joining the group as a full-time member, and would appear on their new album, due out in September.
In the statement, Paramore said: "We recognise the fact that it's way overdue. Oh well! Today is the day. The four of us (Hayley Williams, Zac Farro, Josh Farro and Jeremy Davis) are proud to announce that Taylor York, a touring member of Paramore for over two years, is now an official member of the band!"
Paramore are currently touring in the US as the opening act for No Doubt.
