Bruce Springsteen wants to perform a three-hour Glastonbury set, according to organiser Michael Eavis.

The veteran singer, 59, who is famed for his lengthy stadium shows, will headline the Saturday night at this year's festival.

"He wants to play for three hours actually," Eavis told Reuters. "So we can give him two and a half by the sound of it or maybe two [hours] forty-five."

Springsteen's last show, which took place at the Bonnaroo festival earlier this month, saw him give a 28-song performance. It included his hits 'Badlands', 'Thunder Road', 'The River' and 'Born To Run' as well as a cover of 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town'.

Blur and Neil Young are the other headliners at Glastonbury, which kicks off at Worthy Farm, Pilton on Wednesday.
