Gallagher called Clarke a "little f**ker" after reading comments supposedly from The Enemy frontman in the press.
However, Clarke claimed that he had been misquoted and Liam's brother Noel accused "weasel" journalists at the NME of causing trouble between the bands.
Clarke told XFM: "Liam came up straight away. As soon as I got there and got over my little illness, he made sure I knew the score.
"He's a proper gent and Noel is the most normal bloke in the world, who happens to have written some of the best songs ever."
The Enemy are currently on a UK stadium tour with Oasis and Kasabian, a running order described by Clarke as "probably the best lineup that's ever existed".
