The 'Mama Do' singer was introduced to Bedingfield by her management while she was recording Turn It Up in the US.
"He was lovely to write with. All the songs I haven't used have been pitched out to other artists," she told the Daily Star.
Lott added that the 'Gotta Get Through This' singer, whose last album Second First Impression was released in 2004, has become highly sought-after as a songwriter.
"Apparently this girl in Belgium has got two of my songs on her No. 1 album and a UK girlband are considering some," she said.
The 18-year-old releases her next single 'Boys And Girls' in September.
