Madonna has been named the highest-earning musician in a poll conducted by America's Forbes magazine.

The 'Material Girl' singer made £73 million in the past year, thanks in part to the success of her Hard Candy album and sold-out 'Sticky & Sweet' tour, Rolling Stone reports.

Celine Dion finished second with £66 million, while Beyoncé placed third with £58 million due to her I am…Sasha Fierce LP and subsequent tour, as well as her starring roles in movies Obssesed and Cadillac Records.

Bruce Springsteen and Kenny Chesney were placed at four and five, taking £46 million and £43 million respectively. However, there was a three-way tie for the number six position between Coldplay, Rascal Flatts and AC/DC, who all earned £40 million.

The Eagles and Toby Keith rounded out the top ten with £36 million and £34 million earned.

It was recently announced that Sky1 will air Madonna’s 'Sticky & Sweet' concert in July, with a screening on Sky1HD following in August.
