The 'Bulletproof' star insisted that she would prefer to be recognised for her music and claimed that real sexiness is not determined by fashionable clothing.
"GaGa is cooler in a seedier way but I wouldn't want my kids dressing like that. It would be cooler to be like David Bowie or Annie Lennox," she told the Daily Star.
"I'd prefer to see me as an icon than people who don't wear any clothes.
"You can be sexy without taking your clothes off. I find it criminally unsexy - less is more. Sexiness is in your eyes, not what you wear."
According to midweek sales figures, La Roux's 'Bulletproof' is expected to top the chart on Sunday.
The duo release their self-titled debut album on June 29.
