Cannon: 'Carey song not about Eminem'

Nick Cannon has denied that his wife Mariah Carey's new single 'Obsessed' is about Eminem.

The host of America's Got Talent said that even though Carey was spotted dressed like the rapper for the song's video, it is not aimed at him.

He told MTV: "I don't think that she would take her time. My wife doesn't beef. She's Mariah Carey. She's not beefin', she's a vegetarian."

Cannon openly criticised Eminem for his lyrics in new album track 'Bagpipes In Baghdad', which suggested that the hip-hop star wanted to rekindle his previous romance with Carey. The first single from her upcoming Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel LP has been interpreted as a retaliatory song.

However, the singer's spouse said that it concerns Lindsay Lohan movie Mean Girls.

"To be completely honest, she did the record because she's a huge fan of this movie Mean Girls, and there's a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, 'Why are you so obsessed with me?' [Carey] says that at the beginning of the song, and that's where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life."

Carey's new album will be released on August 24 in the UK and August 25 in the US.
