Ross Ching, a San Diego State University film school graduate, initially made the clip for 'Little Bribes' without the bands' involvement.
He then posted it on his personal website, where it was found by members of the Seattle rockers.
The group have since decided to release his work as the single's official music video, while Ching has landed a job at their record label Atlantic Records.
