Peter Andre has said that he has a lot to prove to people in the UK with his new music.
The singer told BBC Radio 1's The Chris Moyles Show that he would prefer it if DJs stopped playing his older tracks such as 'Insania' on the radio.
Andre said: "I can't blame anyone else but myself for that. It still went to number three, I still can't believe that, but what you're going to hear now is on the other side of the world from that, it's completely different.
"Honestly, I know I've got a lot to prove musically. I know I have in this country, but do you know how good it feels? Before I was always rummaging through, thinking what I can play."
He added: "It's the first time I sat down and I thought, like when people write things in their diaries, why not write it in a song? It's the first time I've had the chance to do something lyrically."
Andre's new single 'Behind Closed Doors' is available from August 10 ahead of the release of his sixth studio album Control.
