'Smash Hits' returns for Jackson tribute

Publisher Bauer Media has confirmed that it is producing a 52-page souvenir edition led by former editor Barry McIlheney.
The issue will include interviews, reports from Jackson's live tours, posters, songwords and the definitive story of Bubbles the chimpanzee.
"Michael Jackson was the King of Pop and Smash Hits was witness to his best years. I think MJ fans of all ages will welcome this souvenir issue," said Stuart Williams, managing director of Bauer Media's music and film portfolio.
"We will be paying tribute to Michael in classic Smash Hits style. Everyone seems to be forgetting in the current tabloid frenzy that this was one of the greatest popstars of all time."
Smash Hits magazine folded in February 2006 due to declining sales, but the brand continues with a digital television channel, digital radio and website services.
The special issue will be priced at £2.99 and is available from July 7.
