Q-Tip to release album after eight-year delay

The former A Tribe Called Quest rapper will debut his new album on September 15 through Battery Records, according to Paste magazine.
The nearly decade-long delay had been a result of conflicts with his former label, Arista Records, which caused the scheduled follow-up to 1999's Amplified to be shelved since 2001.
Q-Tip released The Renaissance in 2008.
