Thank You For The Music: A Celebration Of The Music Of ABBA will be hosted by Radio 2 on September 13 in Hyde Park. It is believed that the group will perform ABBA's greatest hits, together with special guest stars. It is not yet known who else will perform.
In a statement, Andersson and Ulvaeus said: "This is the greatest honour that can be bestowed on any songwriter. We are absolutely delighted."
The Swedish quartet were recently rumoured to be taking over some of the Michael Jackson concert dates at the O2. However, they denied a permanent reunion, saying: "We would like people to remember us as we were. Young, exuberant, full of energy and ambition."
ABBA were hugely successful in the 1970s and '80s and, although they stopped recording in 1982, they never officially split up.
