Lady GaGa has attended a press conference in Malta wearing a face accessory resembling a gimp mask.
The 'Paparazzi' singer described the black item, which covered her entire face leaving just two slits to see through, as "just a hat".
"It's not just a mask, it's a contemporary art piece by a designer friend and I just wanted to wear it today because I love it so much," she said.

During the press conference, the star claimed that she currently finds her fashion inspiration by visiting sex shops.
"I'm inspired by so many things. I am inspired by fashion, I'm inspired by the moonlight, I'm inspired by sex and pornography and slasher films," she said.
"I appreciate a life devoted to fashion. Right now I have got a very strong obsession with clothing found in sex shops, I guess I'd venture to say that all that clothing was designed by gay men."
The 23-year-old went on to play down her reputation for leading an extravagant lifestyle.
"I lived an isolated lifestyle before the media. I lived a life of solitude and loyalty and commitment to my work," she claimed.
"I don't prioritise my life in the same way as others. The only thing that matters is my music and my performance."
On leaving the press conference, GaGa demanded that photographers "got a good shot of my ass on the way out".
