The 20-year-old singer, who secured a recording contract with Timberlake's Tennman label after being spotted singing on YouTube, insisted that she viewed him more like a family member.
"It's crazy, but I didn't fancy him like that. Obviously he's a very attractive guy but he feels like a big brother to me," she told DS.
"He's been mentoring me so much, writing and producing for me and also he took me on tour, so we've grown really close because of that."
The Dutch-born star, who was taken to the US by her management, first met Timberlake during his 'FutureSex/LoveShow' tour.
"I was so nervous! I didn't really know what was happening at the time. I was taken to his backstage room where he was just chilling with his dogs and I walked in and he was really nice and welcoming," she said.
"There was a piano in the corner so I decided to play a song and sing for him. Everything's a bit of a blur, but it clearly worked!"
Denters releases debut single 'Outta Here' on August 15.
