Bassist Chris Wolstenholme told the NME that 'Unnatural Selection' from the follow-up to 2006's Black Holes And Revelations boasts the effect.
Wolstenhome said: "I know it's probably not ever been cool to play slap bass but on that song it just seemed to work, so we kept it in."
Regarding three-part album closer 'Exogenesis', frontman Matt Bellamy said: "I kind of had to get the other two to trust me a bit with that one. But I think it's turned out amazing."
The Resistance is released on September 14.
The full tracklisting of the album is as follows:
- 'Uprising'
- 'Resistance'
- 'Undisclosed Desires'

- 'I Belong to You/Mon Cœur S'ouvre à ta Voix'
- 'Exogenesis: Symphony Part I (Overture)'
