La Roux "taken aback" by success

The star admitted that the duo, which consists of herself and producer Ben Langmaid, were shocked when their debut single and album both became so successful.
"We were taken aback by that success," she told Virgin Media.
"We didn't expect 'In For The Kill' to do quite that well that quickly, even more so with the album."
Describing her emotions on hearing how well their album had performed, she said: "It wasn't like I was jumping for joy, or anything - when you hear you're number two in the charts, it's great, but you can't feel it. It's just a fact, and it's very hard to feel a fact."
The 21-year-old added that she is still struggling to perfect performing live.
"It's just not acceptable to do an okay gig," she said. "It's all got to be the best it can be, so I'm freaking out about not letting anyone down lately."
