The 'Spiralling' star defended criticism of West, describing him as a "sensitive soul".
"We worked very briefly with Kanye and we're looking to carry on that process really soon," he told the Daily Star.
"Kanye's a far-out character - very confident - but he also has an undercurrent of being a very sensitive soul. You can tell that from his latest release."
Speaking about West's recent album 808s & Heartbreaks, Chaplin added: "For a hip-hop artist, he's made a very soulful and sensitive record full of raw feelings about splitting up with his partner.
"That's a very interesting thing. He seems to be looking in different areas for inspiration and I am glad that has been coming together with us."
