According to Perez Hilton, sources at the 'Disturbia' star's record label have claimed that the singer is hoping to achieve a "more mature" sound on her fourth offering.
It is reported that the album will feature "more rock and pop notes" than Good Girl Gone Bad, and that a planned duet with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown has been scrapped.
Insiders at Def Jam added that Soulja Boy and Pharrell Williams have also been approached about possible collaborations.
Earlier this year, the singer denied reports that she had written a track with Lady GaGa about her split from Brown.
