The unreleased track was leaked onto the internet last week and reportedly features a guitar strum similar to that in the band's 1972 single 'A Horse With No Name'. America said that they hope that the 25-second clip will be released in its entirety, MTV reports.
"We're honoured that Michael Jackson chose to record it and we're impressed with the quality of the track," bandmembers Dewey Bunnell and Gerry Beckley said in a statement.
"We're also hoping it will be released soon so that music listeners around the world can hear the whole song and once again experience the incomparable brilliance of Michael Jackson."
It was recently reported that former Sony Records CEO Tommy Mottola revealed that previously unreleased material material from the King Of Pop may be available for "decades to come".
