The bassist said that he struggled to "contain the joy" that he experienced from the Britpop band's summer shows, but insisted that there had been no discussion about working together again.
Blur played a series of small venue gigs, two Hyde Park shows, one date at Manchester's MEN as well as headlined Glastonbury and T In The Park across June and July.
"That was what we said we'd do and we did it and it was great," he told the BBC. "It hasn't been mentioned, the idea of doing anything else but hey, it was great."
Speaking about his reaction to the concerts, he said: "I've spent the last week staring at a bonfire muttering to myself. I haven't been able to contain the joy that it brought to all of us. It was very, very emotional. Everything we hoped it would be and more."
James also described their Sunday night performance at Glastonbury as the "best gig" of the group's career.
"The weather was perfect, the crowd were up for it, we were up for it and between us we smashed it to bits," he added.
