Kid British want 'new wave' of Britpop

The Manchester band, comprising of James Mayer, Adio Marchant, Sean Mbaya and Simeon Mclean, have already been compared to the likes of Oasis, Blur and Supergrass in recent months.
Group frontman Mayer told the Daily Record: "We love these comparisons because all four of us write the songs. Sean was a massive Blur fan. I am a massive Streets fan. So all the bands you are comparing us to are really good bands we look up to.
"We would love to mark the beginning of a Britpop revival. It would be a new wave of Britpop because we have a lot of different influences there."
The four-piece's debut album It Was This Or Football is being released in two parts. The first half hit shelves this week, while the second is currently scheduled for September.
Mayer added: "The title gave us the idea to stick with the theme of football and release it as two halves. A lot of people think it's a tease, but it will give them a chance to get used to the first six songs before they go to buy the rest."
