The former Genesis star dedicated his song 'Biko' to Estemirova, who was abducted and murdered in Chechnya's capital Grozny earlier this month.
The pair previously collaborated on several movie projects in conjunction with Gabriel's human rights charity Witness.
The singer praised Estemirova during his appearance at the Womad festival last year.
