The recently-reunited group, who played at the weekend's Sonisphere festival at Knebworth, made the announcement during an interview with NME.
"We're about to go into the studio in a couple of weeks and record our new album," explained singer Fred Durst, who recently announced his upcoming wedding via Twitter. "We feel very confident about that."
Guitarist Wes Borland added: "[The songwriting process] takes all shapes and all forms. We've written songs during shows in the last tour. Sometimes it's spontaneous, sometimes it's like trying to take down a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
"It's like a pool of ideas. It's like a bunch of finished songs that everyone's done on their home studio setups. Most of the meat of the record will probably be written when we're in a room together."
