Frontman Corey Taylor also hosted the ceremony at The Brewery in London, where other winners included The Prodigy, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park, Radio 1 reports.
Taylor said: "It's been an incredible night. It was two more than I thought we'd win. The fans are great, they always surprise you."
The Prodigy's Liam Howlett added: "I love Slipknot personally, we've played with them a few times over the years."
