My Bloody Valentine have reportedly teamed up with an earplug provider to help protect their fans' hearing at their upcoming shows.

The notoriously loud band have partnered with Earplugshop to give away thousands of the firm's disposable Moldex Yellow range of protectors at the entrance of their European concerts, NME reports.

The company's Shaun Thornburgh said: "I am very pleased to have struck a deal with such an ear-splittingly loud band as My Bloody Valentine, and respect to them for taking ear damage so seriously.

"By handing out these disposable earplugs at their gigs, the band is highlighting how important it is to protect ears from damage which, once set in, is irreversible."

A limited number of earplugs were freely available at My Bloody Valentine's shows at the Camden Roundhouse in London last year.

Some fans left the concert early when the band closed their set with the "holocaust" section in the live rendition of 1988 single 'You Made Me Realise', during which sound levels reportedly peaked at 130db.
