Phil Hartnoll has revealed that his band Orbital were only booked to play their headline Glastonbury set in 1994 because of Björk.

The musician told Metro that he preferred that gig to their 2004 show because it was the first time they had played at the event.

Hartnoll said: "We got in through the back door because Leftfield pulled out. Their agent contacted Björk and asked if we could play after her, and she said yes.

"We rolled up at the gates and said, 'Björk told us we could play', and they let us in. It was a bit of a blag but the audience were really up for it."

Orbital split up in 2004 after a final tour that included a number of festival appearances, but the group reformed this year to play Rock Ness, The Big Chill and Get Loaded In The Park.
