The 'Firestarter' hitmakers claimed that they are eager to match the success of their recent record Invaders Must Die, which was written during some "really hard times" for the band.
"The next album will probably be recorded while we are still on tour, but first we need to have a bust-up," Liam Howlett told the Daily Star.
"We are jiving and putting little one-liners towards each other at the minute," Keith Flint added.
"Then on Thursday I'll leave Liam a really nasty voicemail in the early hours just to start the paranoia going.
"We'll leave it for a year or more maybe and then come back and get stuck into serious songwriting."
Despite previous problems in the group, Flint insisted that he is dedicated to their continued success.
"Everything I do relates to the band and everything I do I think how it may influence the band because it is so precious you can't pollute it," he added.
"You can't f*** with this because once you have then there is no coming back ' it is always on your mind."
The Prodigy rose to fame in 1992 with debut album Experience and have since released a further four records. Singles 'Firestarter' and 'Breathe' both reached number one in 1996.
