The star claimed that Jackson confessed his love for the 'All That She Wants' hitmakers when they both performed at the World Music awards in 1996.
"Meeting him for the first time was a really big thing because he was a legend for all of us in the band," Ekberg told DS.
"But the first thing he did was come up to us and say, 'You know what, I think 'Beautiful Life' is one of the best songs I have ever heard and I listen to it all the time'. He looked down all shy and acted as though he was honoured to meet us.
"I just thought, 'Erm, it's actually us who are meant to be honoured to meet him, not the other way round'. He was so humble and I will always remember that. It was a really big moment."
Ace Of Base rose to fame in 1993 with their debut album Happy Nation and have since sold 30 million albums worldwide.
