The lead singer, 61, was hospitalised after falling off stage during a performance of 'Love In An Elevator' at the Buffalo Chip Campground in South Dakota earlier this week.
A concert scheduled in Winnipeg, Manitoba was cancelled following the accident, in which he sustained trauma to his head, neck and shoulder, Teletext reports.
"He does a lot of dancing on the stage and he does a lot of stuff with his mike stand. He put his stand down and twirled around and stepped backwards off the stage," said Mike Sanborn, a spokesman for Buffalo Chip Campground.
Tyler was taken backstage and attended to by a physician before being airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital, according to Sanborn.
A hospital spokesperson would not confirm that Tyler was being treated at the medical facility.
