The Grammy-winning singer, born in Canada to Portuguese parents, will release Mi Plan on September 14. A single, 'Manos Al Aire', will be released the same day as the album.
"The world is changing and after ten years recording in English, I hit a wall," she said. "I felt this was the moment to make the dream - of doing an album completely in Spanish.
"I have always adored performing in both Portuguese and Spanish, which both are Latin languages. I can emote better in a Latin language, so the songs have turned out more personal and intimate."
Mi Plan will feature 11 tracks written and co-produced by Furtado, including collaborations with Josh Groban, Mexican signer Alejandro Fernandez and Spanish Flamenco star Concha Buika.
Furtado's last album, 2006's Loose, sold more than seven million copies worldwide and spawned the hits 'Maneater', 'Promiscuous' and 'Say It Right'.
