Acts confirmed for Abba celebration

The first raft of acts have been officially confirmed to appear at Thank You For The Music... A Celebration Of The Music Of Abba concert in Hyde Park on September 13.

Songwriter Benny Andersson had previously revealed that the London show would include performances from the cast of Mamma Mia!, as well as Jason Donovan and Helen Sjoholm.

Radio 2 has now announced that the one-off event will see Lulu sing 'Gimme Gimme Gimme' and Chaka Khan perform 'The Winner takes It All', as well as contributions from Andersson and his ex-Abba bandmate Björn Ulvaeus.

Lulu said: "Benny and Björn's songwriting skills are up there with some of the greatest hit songwriters of the century.

"In fact they're just like a really good wine, as time goes on they get better with age. I'm absolutely thrilled to be taking part. This show will be a ball of fun."

Other performances on the night include The Feeling singing 'Knowing Me, Knowing You', VV Brown covering 1973 Eurovision heat entry 'Ring Ring' and former Texas frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri taking on hit single 'SOS'.
