The guitarist wrote on his MySpace page that he and bassist Simon Jones are currently collaborating on their new product The Black Ships.
McCabe said: "The Verve seems to be on holiday, and shows no sign of not being on holiday - so, I've been hesitant to breach Official Secrets style policy with any missives from the, well, from any front, basically.
"Don't ask me anything about the big V, just let me enjoy my non-alcoholic Piña Colada and tell you about what's going on elsewhere."
At the weekend, it was reported that The Verve had split for a third time as a result of problems between Jones, McCabe and frontman Richard Ashcroft.
The Verve first broke up in 1995 ahead of the release of their 'History' single, before reuniting for 1997's chart-topping Urban Hymns LP.
They split again in 1999 before reuniting in 2007 for a series of live dates and the following year's comeback album Forth.
